Urgent Appointments

If you have an urgent  problem you will be seen on the day you request an appointment. The practice does specialise in providing an acute access system called the same day access where doctors and nurses work together to provide a high quality patient-centred service.

If your condition is non-urgent you also have the option to book up to 4 weeks in advance. Nurses based in our practice treat patients for a wide range of common conditions. You can expect to see a nurse within one working day.

We do provide some flexibility in our appointment system. If you find it difficult to get to surgery during our normal working hours please discuss this with our receptionist or practice manager

We will be offering Extended Access Appointments at Birchwood Medical Centre from        1st  July 2019.

A Practice Nurse and Phlebotomist will hold a clinic every Weds between 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.

GP’s will be available on selected Tues & Weds between 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. and Thurs between 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Please contact Reception for more details and to book an appointment.

A GP appointment may not always be the most appropriate appointment for your medical problem. You may be treated quicker and more appropriately by a nurse, dentist, pharmacist, other health professional or local service.   If unsure who you should see please telephone reception who can guide you to the most appropriate clinician to ensure GP appointments are not booked unnecessarily when you could be treated correctly first time by someone else.
